Everytime when I solve problems with available tools, mental models and frameworks. Before knowing when and how to use it, I will try to understand the types of problem. As such, one can approach them systematically and effectively.

Technical problems: These involve issues related to the functionality or performance of technology, equipment, or systems. Examples include software bugs, hardware failures, connectivity issues, and data corruption.

Interpersonal problems: These involve issues related to communication, relationships, and interactions with other people. Examples include conflicts, misunderstandings, and personality clashes.

Strategic and Resource problems

Resource problems involve issues related to the availability, allocation, or management of resources, such as time, money, materials, or personnel. Whereas strategic problems involve issues related to planning, decision-making, and the overall direction of a project or organization. Examples include market analysis, competitive strategy, and resource allocation.
Strategic problems and Resource problems are often closely related. In many cases, strategic decisions about the direction and goals of a project or organization are influenced by resource constraints and considerations, such as budget limitations, available personnel, and equipment availability. Conversely, resource constraints can often influence strategic decision-making, such as when a company decides to enter or exit a market based on its financial resources.

Goals is to improve the processes and procedures of the operation.
Procedural problems involve issues related to the processes or procedures used to perform a task or achieve a goal. Examples include unclear instructions, inefficient workflows, and bureaucratic red tape. Whereas operational problems involve issues related to the day-to-day management and execution of tasks and activities. Examples include scheduling conflicts, inventory shortages, and quality control.
They are similar but not the same, in a way being closely related — as procedural problems can often impact operational efficiency and effectiveness.

For example, if there are unclear or inefficient procedures for handling customer inquiries, this can result in operational problems such as long wait times, frustrated customers, and decreased productivity.
